Erin Chase grew up in the Mad River Valley. After traveling overseas and attending college in the mid-Atlantic Erin was drawn back to her home town in Vermont. After the birth of her daughter, Janie, Erin graduated from Norwich University and eventually bought her first piece of property in Warren, VT. Erin then became a single mom of two, but she was determined to not lose her property. Her desire to build a home kept her motivated and she subdivided the property, keeping a small meadow lot. A few years later Erin met her now-husband, Alex Hilton. Together, along with Alces Post and Beam they designed and built a small post and beam on that meadow. A year after their son, Ryder, was born they were ready for a new adventure. With a craving for a private oasis, they sold their meadow house and purchased 24 acres in Fayston, VT. In 2015 the Chase Hilton family began a new home project on their Fayston woodlands. Even though they had plenty of land and were now a family of five they decided to build a smaller house. With the help of Hunting Homes, a custom modular building company out of East Montpelier, The Chase Hilton family creatively designed and built their second family home.
